The Gross family dedicated itself to wine-growing in 1907, and the winery is still a typical family-run business today. One generation hands down the passion for wine to the next:
Alois Gross is considered as one of the pioneers of Styrian wine, and champions his quality philosophy in both vineyard and cellar. Alois has taken over the winery from his parents and is now able to hand down his long-standing experience in making non-mainstream, highly distinctive wines to his sons.
Johannes is a winemaker with heart and soul. His down-to-earth and farsighted approach make him the perfect advocate for sustainable work with nature. Johannes is in charge of winemaking, a task he assumes with great commitment and care.
When it comes to wine, Michael is particularly open-minded and eager to learn. He is about to finish his studies in nology and wine management and has acquired a great deal of international experience. In his spare time, Michael offers valuable assistance and, with his calm and easygoing manner, a harmonious core.
Ulrike is particularly at ease with inquisitive lovers of wine: she will tell you everything you wish to know about it with enthusiasm and charm. Ulrike energetically stays on top of things around the house, and feels equally at home in the vineyards around it.
Veronika recently finished her studies of communication science and now works full-time for a PR agency in Vienna. She shares the same passion for wine, and supports the family with her knowledge of communications.
